Official Customer Service Week 2009 Theme Announced

(Boonton, NJ, May 22, 2009) — The Customer Service Group has announced the official theme and logo for Customer Service Week 2009.

This year’s theme is A Call to ExcellenceTM.

Both the words and the graphic representation serve as a rallying cry to all service and support professionals to answer the call to provide excellent service.

In the logo, the words, “A Call to Excellence” are prominently featured along with two people sharing an enthusiastic high five. They have followed an arc from the initial call to excellence at the left to the successful completion at the right. “My goal with the logo,” says designer, Sarah Benardos, “is to tell the story in bold, visual terms.” And she adds, “I'm delighted with the high-quality reproduction of the logo on all of our celebration materials.”

The theme also works on several levels notes CSWeek.com relationship manager, Mary Dalessandro. In their daily work all service providers must answer the call to excellence. For some that call will come in a face to face interaction with customers, clients or patients. For others the call will come on the phone. It will in the most literal sense be a call to excellence.

This year we hope to challenge all service and support professionals to answer every call with excellence.

The logo will be imprinted on a wide range of decorations, rewards, gifts, and stress-relievers, which will be used in customer service departments, call centers and help desks as service professionals around the globe celebrate Customer Service Week.

Background

Customer Service Week was developed in 1988 to focus national attention on the importance of customer service and honor the people who serve and support customers. This year’s celebration will take place from October 5 - 9.
